GLC Volunteer & Leadership Guidelines

Because certain leadership and volunteer roles carry significant spiritual influence, those serving in these positions must 

align with the biblical beliefs and standards of Grace Life Church.

• The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and our final standard for truth, faith, and life.
• There is one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is the only way of salvation.
• Every person is created in the image of God, yet all have sinned and need reconciliation with God.
• Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not through our own works.
• Followers of Jesus are called to live surrendered lives, growing in holiness through God's Word and the Holy Spirit.
• The Church is the body of Christ, called to glorify God, love people, make disciples, and make Jesus known.

GLC welcomes people from every background and at every stage of their faith journey. However, those serving in positions of 

spiritual leadership and significant influence are expected to pursue a lifestyle consistent with Scripture.

Those serving in these roles should not be actively practicing, affirming, or publicly promoting:

• Sexual relationships outside of biblical marriage
• Adultery or ongoing sexual immorality
• Same-sex romantic or sexual relationships
• A gender identity contrary to one's biological sex
• Illegal recreational drug use
• Drunkenness or patterns of public intoxication
• Public or social media activity that directly contradicts GLC's biblical beliefs or undermines the church's witness

 If a volunteer has practiced or affirmed any of these in the past 5 months (minimum standard), then we ask that they not serve in one of these roles.  Once a conversation with the ministry leader and a change in behavior happens, RockStar status may be resumed after a three month minimum timeline of maintaining our guidelines

While we are a church that believes in and practices grace we won’t allow any Registered Sex Offenders to volunteer with Birth thru High School.

*If this is resolved by getting married the 3 month minimum timeline is no longer necessary.

Restoration to leadership will be determined prayerfully by GLC leadership based on the circumstances and evidence of healthy, 

consistent spiritual growth.

Background checks and appropriate screening are required for anyone serving with children or students. For the safety of our children and students, registered sex offenders may not serve in any GLC ministry involving minors from birth through 12th grade.

At Grace Life Church, grace and truth go together. We don't expect perfection from our leaders, but we do expect a sincere commitment to following Jesus, biblical accountability, repentance when we fall short, and continued growth in Christ.
